Todd represents both individuals and corporate clients in a broad range of litigation matters throughout the state of Alabama and the southeastern United States, including complex commercial disputes, disputes between shareholders in a closely-held business, business torts, corporate governance, trusts and estates, and professional negligence.  He represents both plaintiffs and defendants which enables him to strategically understand both sides of the case and allows him to anticipate the strengths and weakness of each party.  He has litigated a variety of cases in both federal and state courts as well as matters compelled to arbitration.  He has experience in all stages of litigation, including the drafting and filing of the complaint, managing discovery, taking and defending depositions, drafting and arguing dispositive motions, negotiating settlements, preparing for trial, participating in trying cases to a verdict, post-trial motion practice, and drafting and filing appellate briefs.

Most recently, Todd has:

•Successfully tried a federal jury trial involving breach of an employment contract to verdict;
•Successfully arbitrated a shareholder dispute before a three-person AAA panel in Atlanta to verdict;
•Successfully arbitrated a case involving shareholder breach of fiduciary and minority oppression claims before a three-person AAA panel in Birmingham to verdict;
•Tried a bench/jury trial involving loan defaults and a piercing the corporate veil theory to a verdict;
•Obtained summary judgment on behalf of a plaintiff on a piercing the corporate veil theory;
•Successfully litigated a minority shareholder's oppression claim which resulted in a buy-out of the minority shareholder's interest in a closely-held business;
•Successfully litigated the removal of a trustee of a testamentary trust;
•Tried a federal jury trial involving the denial of a claim on a disability insurance policy.
