Stephen D. Wadsworth is a partner in the firm’s Business Torts, Corporate Litigation, and Trial practice where he represents individuals and business entities in business disputes. While he engages in a general litigation practice, Stephen most often handles shareholder disputes and derivative actions, securities arbitration and litigation,  and class actions and complex litigation. He has recovered millions of dollars for his clients in Alabama and across the country.

Most recently, Stephen has:

•Represented class of municipal bond purchasers in a securities class action which was certified and settled after the jury was struck for 137% of the class’ out of pocket losses
•Obtained $2.55 million verdict for minority shareholder in suit against former partners 
•Obtained FINRA award for customer in a case involving a faulty financial product
•Obtained plaintiffs’ summary judgment on liability and verdict for damages on breach of contract claim
•Obtained award in favor of homeowner based on the seller’s fraudulent concealment of defects
•Represented a minority shareholder in a series of corporations organized under the law of several different states and obtained an early, multi-million dollar settlement
•Obtained plaintiffs’ summary judgment in ERISA action
•Obtained summary judgment for majority shareholder defendants in shareholder action after taking only the plaintiffs’ deposition
