Cason M. Kirby is a partner in the firm’s Business Torts, Corporate Litigation, and Trial practice.  Cason’s practice focuses on representing privately-held companies and individuals in all types of business disputes, including securities litigation, corporate fraud, shareholder disputes, and enforcement of corporate officer non-compete agreements.  Through his practice, Cason counsels businesses and individuals on meeting their changing needs throughout each step in the litigation and appeals process.

Cason has prosecuted and defended claims throughout the Southeast and has represented businesses of all sizes, from new start-ups to national, publicly-traded corporations.

Most recently, Cason has:

•Won a $1.6 million jury verdict after a two-week trial in favor of a Birmingham financial services company asserting fraud claims against a former business associate
•Won a complete defense judgment on behalf of an Ohio logistics company on an employment claim asserted by a former independent contractor
•Won a complete defense summary judgment in favor of a large regional law firm on fraud claims asserted by an opposing lawyer
•Won a complete defense summary judgment in favor of an Alabama law firm in a Fair Debt Collections Practices Act claim asserted by a former litigant
•Won a complete summary judgment in favor of a defendant shareholder against a creditor claim for corporate debt
•Represented a publicly-traded national drugstore chain in real estate disputes with commercial tenants
•Won a complete defense judgment on behalf of a Birmingham industrial client on multiple employment discrimination claims asserted by a former employee
